“Roosterlegs” tells the story of R., a young trans*/gender-variant kid, and his journey at the library. The full story runs 20 pages. You can pre-order the anthology Little Heart in which it appears at its Kickstarter.
Chicago’s Sam Sharpe drew the comic. I wrote it in loose layout form, making it my first finished collaboration as a writer.
Little Heart benefits the Minnesota marriage equality organization MNLove. You can also get a Risograph print by me and a date with me (in Philly, or in Minneapolis during mid-June… it says drink & conversation, but it was pitched to me as a date) for a bigger donation at the Kickstarter.
It stars Michael DeForge, Noah Van Sciver, Emily Carroll & Kate Craig, Maurice Vellekoop, Tim Sievert, Zak Sally, Sally Madden, Luke Holden, Anna Bongiovanni, Jeremy Sorese, Hannah Blumenreich and a bunch of others, with a foreward from Christopher Butcher.
“Roosterlegs” is © 2012 Ed Choy & Sam Sharpe. Special thanks to Maris Wicks. The book within the story is based on Biological Exuberance: Animal Homosexuality and Natural Diversity by Bruce Bagemihl, PhD, a free read on Google Books.
