my mom has been so wonderful through this whole transition of mine. but she managed to out me to the waitress at dinner tonight … several times. i’m not mad; i know my family isn’t to where i am yet with this. because i don’t see them on a regular basis. but it’s tough, and embarrassing, for a stranger to assume i’m a girl and say, “what can i get for you ladies?” and then have my mom say, “oh, he can order first. he’s starving.”
