eleven days until i start hormones (at least that’s the plan).

trans* people, especially mtfs, i have questions for you:

when you started, what sort of dosages were you prescribed? did your doctor push a conservative dose to begin and then increase it later? or did you start off with something a little more substantial? did you start both estrogen and spiro (or another antiandrogen) right away? were you satisfied with the dosage when you first began, as far as being effective?

i’m just worried that my doctor will want to start me on a dosage that isn’t really effective, thereby delaying the process. this is all part of my anxiety about getting started ASAP, as i feel i’m getting to the end of the age where i can expect a really good outcome.

i know the doctor wants to keep me healthy, and i’m all for that, but i will be very upset if things are needlessly delayed, if i don’t notice any real changes, say, in the next six months.

anyway, let me know how it happened for you. (please?)… it would mean a lot to me, to help give me some idea of what to expect. obviously i’ll find out soon enough, but it helps me greatly to go in with some idea of what others have done.
